To Salvage or …
Deciding whether to salvage or replace an item that is special to you but is damaged/broken is never an easy call. As hunters and collectors, we often find ourselves grappling with this dilemma.
On one hand, the sentimental value or potential usefulness of the item may make it worth trying to restore.
With a bit of elbow grease and creativity, we may be able to breathe new life into it. However, the time, effort and costs involved can quickly add up not always making this a viable option.
On the other hand, letting go and replacing the item may be the more practical solution however easier said than done right!
Saying goodbye to something with history and character that has passed its prime is never easy.
It’s a tough decision without a one-size-fits-all answer. The key is weighing the pros and cons to determine the best path forward for our individual circumstances. After all, as Kiwis, we take pride in making the most of what we have, even if it’s not in perfect condition.
